Exciting times – 6 pieces, 2 exhibitions

Once again it is nearly time for the Linden Postcard Show! It’s a really colourful and happy exhibition held in St Kilda each year. We can’t wait to see our 3 textile pieces in amongst the other wonderful works at Linden New Art.

We also have 3 entries on their way to Gippsland for the EGAG WRAP 2022 Small Artwork Prize, which attracts 300 Australian artists every year. It begins on the second of December and goes right through to the 14th of January. It promises to be a really interesting exhibition.

Sir Humprey and the Nillumbik Prize

Australian Terrier by Pauline Dewar

After a lengthy delay I am delighted to say we have a happy, healthy son/grandson, Ted, and all are well.

We are back to work and will soon post some colourful new works, both drawing, painting and some textiles.

In the meantime we have a painting of Sir Humphrey, a terrier with attitude.

The Bendigo Easter Show was delightful, such a beautiful venue, and “The Known World” found a new home.

This week is the Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Art 2021, where we are showing “The Flight of the Bogong Moths” in keeping with the theme of Return. It is held at Montsalvat Gallery, Eltham, and promises to be a beautiful exhibition.

Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens Exhibition

The Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens in Sydney are having an exhibition next month, October 17 – 25 2020. It will be held at the picturesque Lion Gate Lodge in the Botanic Gardens and promises to be beautiful.

We have three artworks in the exhibition,” Vanishing”, which is an exploration of insect diversity and threatened extinction. This work was also a finalist in the 2020 Adelaide Perry Drawing Prize which was cut short due to the corona virus pandemic.

Next is “Fly by Night”, a watercolour painting which features the beauty and diversity of Australian moths. All the moths were drawn from specimens obtained in Northern Queensland.

Finally there is “The Known World” a whimsical look at Australian fauna and flora.

All works will be available through the website as prints.
