Pauline Dewar is a well-regarded Australian artist with a focus on botanical art, often delighting in including a fauna component to her highly detailed and intricate works. She began creating Australian art over 10 years ago and has won several awards including the prestigious Margaret Flockton Award for Scientific Illustration (2016). She was also a Highly Commended finalist in the 2014 Waterhouse Art Exhibition.
Pauline resides in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. She prefers to create her works from live specimens and so often travels to collect materials from various locations across Victoria. To create her works she uses a variety of mediums including watercolour, pencil and ink, and markers; and has recently begun exploring textile works. She also skillfully transitions between a variety of styles from traditional botanical art, to more abstract bright and colourful works that still stay true to her passion for celebrating the natural world.

About PJD Botanical Art
PJD Botanical art promotes and celebrates the natural wonders of Australia via the art of Australian artist Pauline Dewar. In addition to selling her fabulous original works, we also produce prints and products using Pauline’s art making a beautiful space available to all. We are passionate about the natural world, especially Australian flora and fauna, as well as fungi and environmental art.
Actually there is another behind the scenes helper to Pauline, her Daughter in Law, Jill Dewar. That’s me! – Zoology Graduate and website manager of PJD Botanical art. I assist Pauline with the promotion and sale of her art, including helping with Social Media. I can often be found photographing insects or searching thrift shops for treasures that can be used in art pieces. Other passions include exploring local Box Ironbark bushland, near my home in central Victoria.
